KY 1402, Porter Pike, Bowling Green

First settlement in Warren County, 1/4 mi. east, was on north side of Barren River near mouth of Drake's Creek. Andrew McFadin, Rev. War soldier from N.C., surveyed area and established station, 1785. It was a popular stopover on Cumberland Trace. Emmett Logan, a Louisville Times editor, once owned land where station stood. Henry Watterson was frequent visitor to his home.
