At 16, thinking he had killed a man, fled beyond Alleghenies, becoming companion of Daniel Boone and other early pioneers of Ky. Scout for Governor Dunmore of Va. Returned to Kentucky, 1782. Frequently engaged in Indian warfare. Fought with Kentucky troops at Battle of Thames. Kenton Co. formed out of Campbell.
