Kelly O. Brengelman
Marketing Administrator
When searching her earliest memories of what she wanted to be when she grew up, Kelly’s choices included artist, actress, and writer. Luckily, she was able to achieve each in some shape or form. Although she considered studying history, she opted instead for Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree, Kelly cut her teeth in advertising at a leading Lexington agency. She worked as a media director and then creative director in both print and broadcast before leaving her brick-and-mortar career to become an independent contractor. During those years, Kelly provided graphic design for Kentucky’s Ouita Michel/Holly Hill & Co. for nearly a decade before joining the staff at the KHS. She’s also an actress with Kentucky Humanities, where she writes her own scripts and has continuously performed historical characters for over seventeen years. She occasionally appears in documentaries and commercials and also provides voice-over work. There’s not a genealogy test that Kelly doesn’t like; she’s a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants and she especially enjoys researching her Irish roots.
Staff member since 2022.
