KHS to Celebrate Kentucky’s 225th Birthday and Statehood Day Weekend

The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) will open a new temporary exhibit and offer free admission to the entire KHS history campus June 1 – June 3 in celebration of Statehood Day and Kentucky’s 225th birthday.

The celebration will start at noon on June 1 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open “People of Kentucky,” an exhibit that uses stories, objects and photographs to throw the spotlight on some well-known and not-so-well-known Kentuckians. Collectively, their stories contribute to that of Kentucky.

KHS also is offering free admission to all of its sites through the weekend. This includes all attractions at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History (exhibits, research library and 1792 Store), tours at the Old State Capitol and entrance to the Kentucky Military History Museum. It excludes the Saturday Workshop.

After June 3, normal admission applies.
