Old Threshing Rock

Marker Number:

1293

Location:

Lee Hacker Memorial Park, 9 mi. S. of Manchester

This large rock was used by the settlers of this area for threshing of grain as early as 1800. There were indications that Indians from a nearby settlement used the rock. For many years it was used for flailing grain by farmers of the area. It was often necessary to stand guard protecting the grain from both birds and animals.
