This early permanent settlement in the Big Sandy Valley was named for Rev. War veteran Wm. Robert Leslie (1729-1802). Leslie moved to this site at John's Creek ca. 1790. His son Robert joined him shortly before his father's death. William and Robert are buried in separate plots on original settlement site. Presented by Leslie/Lesley Family Association.
