Pioneer, soldier, statesman, John Logan established land claim for 1400 acres in Lincoln County and built stone house here. He was in Lincoln County Militia; member of first Kentucky Court, 1781; Lincoln Co. delegate to Virginia Assembly and to 1787 Danville Convention. Logan was state senator and elected first state treasurer in 1792. Served until his death in 1807.
