First Kentuckian to receive "70 Continuous Years of Service Award" from Boy Scouts of America, 1983. Scoutmaster for over 50 years; with Owensboro's oldest troop, 24, from 1949 till death. Among many honors, he received Scoutmaster's Key and Silver Beaver awards. Recognized for having 86 Eagle Scouts, most in nation; received Lt. Governor's Outstanding Kentuckian Award, 1982.
