Born in Meade County; son of Carl and Emma Allen Reese. Major League debut 1940. Spent 16 years with Dodgers in Brooklyn and L.A. (1940-58), interrupted by WWII service in U.S. Navy. Credited with aiding Jackie Robinson's integration into Major League Baseball. Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984. Presented by Meade County Fiscal Court.
