Dr. “F.J.” Halcomb, Jr. Dr. “F.J.” Halcomb, Jr., practiced medicine in Scottsville for nearly 60 years. He was instrumental in bringing the first modern hospital to Allen County, was a charter member of KY Academy of Family Physicians, and Charter Diplomate of Am. Board of Family Medicine. He also served on the Allen County School Board and the Scottsville City Council for many years.
Halcomb House, c. 1900 Family home of Dr. and Mrs. “F.J.” Halcomb, Jr., for 67 years. Dr. Halcomb saw patients here as well as at his clinic and the local hospital. Patients would often visit the home, where the screened-in porch was enclosed in the early 1960s to be used as an examination room. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.
