Greenville Methodist Church - Established in the home of Albrittain Drake, the Greenville Methodist Church congregation has existed since 1820. Drake urged Rev. Philip Kennerly, a Methodist minister from Lewisburg, to establish a local Methodist circuit. Kennerly returned with Rev. Peter Cartwright, a circuit rider from the Christian Circuit, to form new churches in Muhlenberg County.
Greenville Methodist Church - In 1822, the Greenville Methodist circuit was established in the Kentucky Conference and continued to grow in size. As membership grew, a new structure was built on the corner of East Main Cross and Mill Streets in 1837. The present church, built in Greek-Revival style, was constructed in 1920-1921 and expanded in 1964 and 2003. Dedicated by the Church in its 200th year.
