KHS Strives to Make Experiences and Resources Accessible

***Exciting news for Kentucky schools! In celebration of America 250, the Kentucky Historical Society is offering free school field trips in 2026 thanks to the Elizabeth Lloyd “Libby” Jones Student Scholarship Fund. This program helps remove cost barriers so more students can experience Kentucky history firsthand.***

Each year, the Elizabeth Lloyd “Libby” Jones Student Scholarship Fund supports school field trips to the Kentucky Historical Society for qualifying schools and their teachers. Scholarship funds subsidize the cost of KHS admission and educational resources for students at-risk or from low-income districts.

Qualifications

  • Title I school
  • A homeschool qualifies when eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

Application

Scholarships are confirmed for applicants as a $0 balance in the school's confirmation invoice.

Remember: Regular school group admission is $5/person and includes all three KHS sites and Traveling Trunks are $100 + return shipping.

Applications are due three (3) weeks before your requested visit date.

Don't forget to submit the request form for the educational program to which you want your scholarship applied.
