Treasures from the Stacks
Treasures from the Stacks - on exhibit through August 16.
This rotating exhibit is displayed in the Martin F. Schmidt Research Library, located on the second floor of the Kentucky Historical Society's Kentucky History Center.
The Kentucky Historical Society has collected books since its founding in 1838. Collecting priorities have varied over the years — from material related to Kentucky’s early history to resources for those studying their Kentucky roots to more recent efforts to establish KHS as a hub for cutting-edge historical research. These items, typically housed in the secure “Closed Stacks” storage area, represent a small sample of the extensive and diverse collections of rare books, pamphlets, periodicals, and archival materials in our collection.
