Courage of the Commonwealth

Courage of the Commonwealth: Battles and Campaigns in the War of Independence

Kentucky settlers significantly impacted the outcome of the Revolutionary War. Before and after the conflict they served together, founded cities and counties in what became Kentucky, and fought side by side in nearly every major battle in the Revolution. The artifacts included in this exhibit represent the remarkable stories of several soldiers, officers, and artisans who would help to forge not only Kentucky, but the new nation itself.

Made possible with the support of Mel and Angela Hankla.

A companion exhibition for Revolution to Statehood: Kentucky's Founding in History and Memory.
