The Shelby County Historical Society is pleased to announce its first With Liberty & Justice For All speaker series program for 2026. A Flock of Eastern Flamingoes or Florida Woodpeckers will take place on Wednesday, March 18, from 6:30 – 8 pm at the historic Mulberry Building (701 Main St.). The special guest speaker will be Steve Abolt, and this free program will be held in conjunction with the opening of the Historical Society’s latest exhibit, “250 Years of Clothing in Shelby County, Kentucky”. Guests will learn how the evolution of the American uniform mirrored a country’s definition of itself in the years 1806 - 1850. Before the program, a Meet & Greet will be held from 5 – 6 pm across the street at the Shelby County Historical Society Museum (627 Main St.), where visitors can view the exhibit. Light refreshments included.
