McCreary County will celebrate 250 Years-Voices of McCreary Past and Present by displaying the 1792 Kentucky State Constitution in the McCreary County Courthouse, McCreary County Library, and McCreary County Museum.

McCreary County citizens of all ages are encouraged to provide artwork, essays, and participate in our July 4th parade. In addition, local artisans have been invited to set up a craft booth or provide craft demonstrations.

July 4 Schedule:

  • 2-8pm - Artisan Demonstrations and Craft Vendors
  • 2-10pm - Food Trucks, Primitive Camp/Civis War Reenactors
  • 2-8pm - Quilt Show in Big South Fork Scenic Railway Depot
  • 6pm - July 4th parade
  • 6:30pm - Presentation of Colors (McCreary Central JROTC, Americal Legion, VFW
  • 7:15pm - Welcome and Introduction of officials
  • 7:20pm - McCreary County Judge Executive Address (other attending officials)
  • 7:30pm - Historic Stearn Whistle (blown for the first time in over 60 years)
  • 7:45-9:45pm - Live music by local musicians
  • 9:45pm - Fireworks
