Megan Sauter
Museum Programs Administrator
Megan has traveled the world in pursuit of knowledge. She studied marble sculpture in Tuscany and carved stone mined out of the same mountains where Michelangelo selected his blocks. She learned the history of Karakuri (a traditional Japanese mechanized puppet) in Japan and even received a Best of Meister’s certificate from the Aichi Institute of Technology for building her own.
At KHS Megan oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of public and school programs that occur on and off the KHS’ campus. These educational programs use Kentucky’s rich history and the museum collections to help students increase their knowledge of history and think critically. Her work in developing the History smArts outreach program earned KHS an American Association of State and Local History Leadership in History Award in 2015.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio arts and a Master of Arts degree in art education.
