Daniel is the associate editor of the Register of the Kentucky Historical Society and coordinator of the KHS Research Fellowship Program. As a former research fellow, he is committed to helping researchers at the Kentucky Historical Society connect to the broader historical community. He holds a PhD in history from the University of Alabama and has articles in the Journal of the Early Republic, Western Historical Quarterly, Pacific Historical Review, Southwestern Historical Quarterly, and Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era. He recently published his first book: A Failed Vision of Empire: The Collapse of Manifest Destiny, 1845-1872.
