Daniel is the associate editor of the Register of the Kentucky Historical Society and coordinator of the KHS Research Fellowship Program. As a former research fellow, he is committed to helping researchers at the Kentucky Historical Society connect to the broader historical community. He holds a PhD in history from the University of Alabama and his research focuses on manifest destiny, nineteenth-century empire, and humor. He has published articles in the Western Historical Quarterly, the Alabama Review, and in several edited collections.
