Field Trip & Program Scholarships

We can subsidize the cost of KHS admission and educational programs.

Each year, the Elizabeth Lloyd “Libby” Jones Student Scholarship Fund supports school field trips to the Kentucky Historical Society for qualifying schools and their teachers. Scholarship funds subsidize the cost of KHS admission and educational programs for students at-risk or from low-income districts. Chaperones still pay the group rate of $5, and we recommend one chaperone per ten students.

Qualifications

  • Title I school
  • A homeschool qualifies when eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

Application

KHS grants scholarships on a first-requested basis until the fund reaches a zero balance for the fiscal year. KHS allots discounts based on the applicant’s financial needs.

Applicants will receive a voucher stating their discount by email within two weeks of submission. When you arrive for your field trip, you must present the voucher when you pay at our front desk.

Remember: Regular school group admission is $5/person and includes all three KHS sites. Learning Labs are an additional $2/person. Virtual field trip options are $75/session, and our Host a Historian program is $75/session.
