Our Civil Wars is a look at the contributions of Kentucky’s Black soldiers during the Civil War, through the lens of Frank X Walker’s 2024 remarkable book of poetry, Load In Nine Times. Walker will read from his book and participate in a panel discussion that includes Steve T. Phan from the Camp Nelson National Monument, historian Dr. Benjamin Fitzpatrick, and author Dr. Kristine Yohe.
