Join the Kentucky Military History Museum as we celebrate Veteran’s Day! This virtual program is designed as a “hands-on” addition to our traditional “Host a Vet” program (recommended for K-3rd grades). Together, we will learn about the American flag, what the colors mean, and how to care for the flag. While students design their own flags, a veteran will talk about what Veteran’s Day means to them and help us fold our “flags” together!
Veteran Info:
Heather Morgan is a Navy kid and Army veteran who has been all over the globe. She served for seven years as an officer on active duty in the U.S. Army, and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Afghan-led security operations. Through Troops to Teachers, she spent four years teaching a mixture of theatre and English, mostly to 8th graders, at Shelby County High School in Kentucky. Heather now homeschools her children and teaches English Composition and Spanish 1 online at Veritas Scholars Academy, with students all over the world. An alumna of Asbury College, she majored in English and Spanish, completing a Master of Arts in teaching through the University of Southern California’s hybrid virtual and local classroom. Formerly a globe-trotter and military mother, Heather enjoys putting down roots in Kentucky with her husband, Zach, and their daughters.
