Patriotic Parade Planned for Fourth of July in Danville
Everybody loves a parade and Danville is planning a festive one for a Fourth of July celebration that honors both our nation’s independence and the men and women who have served in the United States military. Danville’s 4th of July Military Appreciation Parade will take place on Saturday, July 4, in downtown Danville.
This special parade will pay tribute to military service members—past and present—while celebrating the enduring spirit of freedom that has shaped Boyle County for two and a half centuries.
Parade Details
The parade will begin in Downtown Danville, with lineup starting at 9:30 a.m. at Centre College (additional lineup details will be shared closer to the event). The parade officially steps off at 11 a.m., inviting residents and visitors alike to line the streets and take part in a meaningful Independence Day tradition.
A Parade with Purpose
The 4th of July Military Appreciation Parade is designed to be non-political and non-partisan, with a clear focus on patriotism, remembrance, and gratitude. The goal is to create a family-friendly celebration that is respectful, energetic, and reflective of the values that unite our community.
Participants are encouraged to bring the parade to life with patriotic music, performances, and visual displays. From color guards and drill teams to live music, reenactments, and spoken tributes, a lively and engaging parade helps create a memorable experience for spectators of all ages.
Any organizations, businesses or community groups interested in participating in the parade can use the online sign up form to read the guidelines and to register.
A Special Call for WWII Veterans
As part of this milestone celebration, organizers are actively seeking local World War II veterans to serve as special guests and Grand Marshals for the parade. This is a unique opportunity to honor members of the Greatest Generation during Boyle County’s 250th anniversary year.
