Dr. Curt Fields will portray General Grant. He will give a firsthand account of the capture of Fort Donaldson. Dr. Fields has portrayed General and President Grant to great acclaim across the United States. As a Living Historian, Dr. Fields portrayed General Grant at the 150th Civil War Sesquicentennial observations at Fort Donelson, Shiloh, and Vicksburg National Battlefield Parks, and at the remembrance of General Robert E. Lee’s surrender to General Grant at Appomattox Court House, Virginia. Dr. Fields portrays General Grant, on the American Battlefield Trust website and he is featured as General Grant in the Visitors Center films shown at Appomattox National Historic Park and the Dover Hotel in Fort Donelson National Battlefield.
An afternoon with General Grant is sponsored by the Frankfort Civil War Roundtable and the Paul Sawyier Public Library.
