Book your passage on The Trailblazer's Tour and let the stories of courage, conflict, and triumph come to life. The Kentucky Historical Society educators will drive you across central Kentucky to explore battlefronts and historic sites connected to our state’s founding. This day-long tour will encounter the following sites:

Fort Boonesborough: Stand inside the reconstructed fort where Boone's settlers withstood a harrowing, 11-day siege by Native Americans and British forces in 1778. Experience frontier life as artisans demonstrate 18th-century crafts.

Logan's Fort (St. Asaph's): Discover the site of a lesser-known but equally vital siege that tested the resolve of the earliest settlers. Hear the tale of how Benjamin Logan's bravery held the line and secured a foothold on the frontier.

Old Fort Harrod: Visit Kentucky's first permanent European settlement. Explore the full-scale replica fort and see a pioneer cemetery, a museum, and the cabin where Abraham Lincoln's parents were married.

Constitution Square: Conclude your adventure in Danville at the birthplace of Kentucky's state government. See the reconstructed buildings where Kentucky’s constitution was drafted and the final steps toward statehood were taken.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. Feel free to bring a backpack, an umbrella, and a bottle of water. A lunch stop will be organized in downtown Danville, but payment is on your own.

Participants will receive a liability waiver form, itinerary, and lunch options closer to the event. The cost includes admission to all of the sites. Please arrive at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History 15 minutes before departure time. Participants will not return to KHS until the tour concludes.

Severe weather date will be June 13.

This experience is recommended for audience members 16+. Any youth participants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
