KHS is now AFBI Certified!

KHS is now a proud and certified Autism Friendly Business Initiative (AFBI) partner. AFBI is a training program designed by Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT) to build a community of local businesses that are dedicated to the inclusion of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in all aspects of life. 

KHS has deepened our commitment as an Autism Friendly Business by making small modifications/adjustments to our premises to improve access to those with autism. For more information click here. 

In an effort to provide a comfortable museum experience for all visitors, sensory backpacks are available for loan at the welcome desk of the Kentucky History Center. Our backpacks include a weighted plush pet, noise-reducing headphones, sunglasses, and more to help young learners on the autism spectrum experience the museum.
