As a former journalist, Laurel has often relied on historical context to help explain current events, whether they involved the building of a nuclear power plant or how the Beat Movement changed the way movie titles are created today.

She brings to KHS that appreciation for history’s relevance, along with experience working as a newspaper reporter and editor, magazine editor, book author and editor, public relations specialist (working overseas and in the U.S.) and as the head of marketing/creative services for a major university.
