Kent would be the happiest person alive if he could combine his love for history and aviation by skywriting the complete “Value of History Statement” at key sites across the United States. (As a leader in the national History Relevance Campaign, he co-authored the “Value of History Statement.”)
Kent brings to his role as leader of the Kentucky Historical Society education in, and passion for, history – and a fervent belief that historical thinking and knowledge are crucially important to the wellbeing of society today.
His focus is on setting organizational strategy, managing board relations, overseeing governmental relations and nurturing partnerships (local to national) focused on promoting history’s value in all aspects of our daily lives. Kent holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in history.
