Curator of Object Learning
The power of history struck Julie at a young age. Even before graduating from high school, she started to work in historic sites and museums, and out of high school, was a seasonal park ranger at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Before joining KHS she was curator and project manager for all exhibit projects at the Missouri State Museum in Jefferson City. As KHS’s Senior Curator, Julie continues to manage exhibit development and design, plus assists in the care and use of artifacts in KHS’s collections.
Julie is a 2015 Smithsonian Institute Visiting Professional, a member of the 2016 class of Developing History Leaders @SHA and a frequent presenter at national conferences on the latest practices and procedures in museum management. She holds degrees in historic preservation, history and museum studies.
