National History Day in Kentucky Coordinator
Cheryl started college with the goal of becoming Indiana Jones. It did not take long for her to find out that she really wanted to study history – art history specifically, because it seemed that would allow her to live out her dreams of traveling the world.
“I guess traveling to the far reaches of Kentucky is close enough!” she says now. Cheryl does just that as she helps teachers and students have fun with history, providing materials and consultation to help them participate in two signature KHS programs: the Kentucky Junior Historical Society and National History Day in Kentucky. These programs allow students to take active roles in local history and historical research. Cheryl also is the Kentucky liaison to the national program, National History Day, and helps students and teachers prepare for and advance to that competition.
She holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in art history.
