Workshop: Family History Writing and Publishing Part I

Now that you have information on your family history, how can you share it with others?

Get some answers in this two-part boot camp.

From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., KHS staff will take you through an intense lesson on writing your family narrative, in which you will learn about establishing focus, readability/story flow, supporting details and citations.

You’ll also learn about digitizing supplemental content, copyright and the various ways you can publish what you write.

When you leave, you will be equipped with the knowledge and abilities to start your publication journey.

On Nov. 3, participants can share what they’ve written since Sept. 22 in Part II of the workshop, and our experts will work with you on publishing a product to have ready for sharing with family in time for the holidays!

Part I Admission: $24 for KHS members OR $30 + $8 general admission for others.

Part II Admission: $16 for KHS members OR $20 + $8 general admission for others.

Package Admission for both Parts I & II: $35 for KHS members OR $55 for others.

Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, please call 502-564-1792, ext. 4408. For more information: khsrefdesk@ky.gov
