CANCELED. Kids Class: Soldiers, Sweethearts & Statesmen – Civil War Life in Kentucky
Special No-School Days Class. This is a two-day class that continues Dec. 22.
In 1861, Kentuckians found themselves “stuck in the middle” as North and South went to war. What did that mean for their everyday lives? For their relationships with family and friends? Using artifacts and documents from KHS collections, we’ll explore the challenges Kentuckians experienced during the Civil War. Participants will build new skills as we debate tough questions, devise a defense strategy for Frankfort and practice home front crafts necessary for survival.
