Elizabeth Roseberry Mitchell of Lewis County, Ky., decorated this quilt with paper caskets that bear the names of family members. This extraordinary quilt illustrates nineteenth-century mourning customs and period American folk art. Donated by Mrs. Nina Mitchell Biggs.
