For Adults
KHS packages Kentucky's heritage in programs of all shapes and sizes. Museum visitors can enjoy a tour program or a
Museum Theatre performance. The
Highlighting History discussion series provides opportunities to learn about the past in an informal setting.

For Schools
KHS offers programs and services that help students learn about the past and support teachers in Kentucky history education.
Field trip opportunities include tour programs at each of the three sites on the KHS history campus and the biennial
Kentucky Folklife Festival. Students across Kentucky can participate in
Kentucky Junior Historical Society clubs and the
National History Day competition. Teachers can take advantage of professional development programs, order curriculum materials to use in their classrooms or apply for a

For Community Historians
KHS supports community historians through a variety of programs and services. Communities can bring KHS programs to their area by booking a
Museums-to-Go exhibit or sponsoring a
HistoryMobile visit. Individuals and historical organizations can hone their research and interpretation skills by becoming a
Community Scholar, attending a basics workshop or joining the Historical Confederation of Kentucky. Grant funds available through the
Kentucky Folklife Program, the
Kentucky Oral History Commission, the
Community History Program and the
Kentucky Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission can help fund Kentucky heritage programs throughout the state. The
Historical Highway Marker and
Cemetery Preservation programs provide assistance to communities working to preserve and interpret their history.
