Schenley Distillery guard coat, c. 1940
During World War II, bourbon distilleries provided jobs for many central Kentuckians. Wartime alcohol production increased the mashing capacity of Schenley Distillery to 10,000 bushels a day. Guard B. Moore of Frankfort wore this coat as he patrolled the grounds. Donated by Charles K. Foster.
