The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) at the Thomas D. Clark Center of Kentucky History is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected historical societies. Among the society’s holdings are more than 90,000 published books; 470 cubic feet of rare books; 16,000 rolls of microfilm; more than 2,000 maps; 2,500 cubic feet of manuscripts, photographs and special collections; over 250,000 artifacts; and two of the commonwealth’s most important historic sites, the Old State Capitol and the Kentucky Military History Museum at the State Arsenal.
