Below you’ll find information on this year’s History Day theme, “Rights and Responsibilities in History”. If you are new to National History Day there are helpful guides to the different categories and conducting research. To determine which district you will compete in for National History Day please see the map. 6th-12th grade students must compete at a district contest to be eligible to compete at the state level.

There is no need to be a historian, social studies expert, teacher, or museum professional in order to serve as a judge.
